Photography classes and workshops

As a former press photographer, I learned early on that you don't necessarily need a big studio and expensive lighting to get good images. In my courses I'll show you the following techniques:

You learn how to take good photos in almost any condition. I'll also show you how you can save money on accessories etc

You'll see that it is definitely not the camera that makes the good photographer. You do not need the latest high-tech camera to shoot good photos.

No matter what camera you are using, whether film, digital or even your mobile phone, you'll learn how to get better results.

Classes on offer

Beginners. Have you recently bought a shiny new camera and decided that you want to learn a bit more about photography? Are you confused by the manual that came with it? Do all the buttons, switches and dials mean nothing to you? Do you want to venture away from the "P" setting on the mode dial to see what kind of effects you can achieve?

You will learn how to optimise the camera for the kind of images you want to take. You will learn when it's best to use the Tv, Av or other modes. Flash will also be covered and you'll see how to use it in daylight to kill unflattering shadows or even make the background look darker during the day! I'll show you how choosing a different lens can completely alter your image.
